Utoo Radio with Other News Sources - August 9 2024 - Northern College has partnered with NPLH Drilling to offer a fully funded mining site training program to Taykwa Tagamou Nation members in northeastern Ontario.

The program, called "Diamond Drilling Common Core – Basic Training," aims to develop a skilled workforce, focusing on Indigenous peoples, women, and youth, trained to work in surface and underground drilling environments.

The free program, which would normally cost $4,500, will prepare students for in-demand careers and provide inclusive opportunities for those wishing to work in the mining industry. The courses will begin in fall 2024.
