The federal government is working with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis partners to drive positive change, including expanding access to quality education, providing culturally appropriate healthcare, creating economic opportunities, and supporting Indigenous languages reclaim.
An Act to establish a national council for reconciliation became law in Canada earlier this year, monitoring efforts to implement the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action and the 231 Calls for Justice in the Final Report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
Trudeau invited Canadians to learn more about Indigenous Peoples and reaffirm their commitment to a fairer future for everyone.
