Utoo Radio - November 16 2024 - The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) is launching two public consultations to modernize Canada's broadcasting framework and ensure online streaming services contribute to Canadian and Indigenous content.

The first consultation will update the definition of Canadian content for TV and online streaming services, ensuring Canadian stories are shared and discoverable.

The second consultation will update radio station rules to provide more flexibility for communities.

The consultations are open until January 20, 2025, and can be accessed online, by writing to the Secretary General, or by faxing 819-994-0218.

The CRTC plans to issue key decisions over the next year.
