Utoo Radio - February 2, 2025 - Assembly of First Nations (AFN) National Chief Cindy Woodhouse Nepinak plans to visit the United States to discuss the impact of US tariffs on Indigenous Peoples, Tribes, and Nations' ancestral lands and traditional territories.

She will meet with Native American organizations and the Jay Treaty Border Alliance to discuss Treaty and border mobility rights, the importance of border mobility, and the right to maintain relations with Indigenous Peoples across borders.

She also calls for Canada's First Ministers to include First Nations leadership in strategic discussions regarding border issues, Arctic sovereignty, and Canada's response to the tariffs.

Nepinak has reiterated these concerns in open letters to President Donald J. Trump, a meeting with Prime Minister Trudeau on Canada-U.S. trade relations, and responses to remarks from the U.S. President-elect.
